DC SMALL STAGE INTERACTIVE STORY TELLING SESSIONS (SEPT. 20-22, 2013)
September 20-22, 2012

Dear Friends,

I had a very busy performance schedules during the weekend of Kalbe Junior Science Fair 2013, September 20-22, 2013. In total, I had 4 performances! Three of the performances were on small stage, and it took place every day, while Saturday turned out to be the busiest for me. Could you imagine that I had two performances on that day? One performance on the small stage and another one on the BIG STAGE!

But, this article is fully dedicated to my small stage interactive story telling sessions. Each day, I had an enthusiastic crowd participating interactively with me and my story teller, Kak Nana.

We opened each session with the flash mob dance to accompany my upbeat song, My Name is Didgit. Then, we used the story from the second book, The Tale of Didgit Cobbleheart and the Big Bone. Since theres an element of musical instruments in the story, we have prepared bells so that the audience will have fun creating sounds with us.

Kak Nana assigned the audience into several lines, and give each leader a bell and a tone: TING! TANG! TUNG! TENG! JRENG-JRENG! Every time Kak Nana pointed to a particular line, the leader had to ring the bell and everyone in the line had to shout the assigned tone aloud. Now, you could imagine how merry these sessions were! Bells were ringing and kids were shouting the tone enthusiastically. Kak Nana even added a small hip moves to accompany a cute tone: EYA! EYA! Three days, three wonderful performances and great childrens participation! They were such great experiences for my team and I.
