Dear Friends, Aunty Nila Tanzil, founder of this wonderful organization called Taman Bacaan Pelangi, shared her stories and pictures when she visited a refugee village of Noelbaki, Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara. Aunty Nila visited Ibu Ati, one of Tupperware SheCan! Award recepients. Since 1999, Ibu Ati has been living and teaching these refugee children using the Paud curriculum. So, Aunty Nila distributed 100 of my story and coloring books "Mencintai Laut Indonesia" (Loving Indonesian Oceans) and 85 sets of pencil color sets from my sponsor, Cerebrofort, to Ibu Ati and her students. If you can see from these pictures, those kids share only one small room as a classroom. They do not have a lot of resources, but they have the high spirit to study. You can imagine how happy they were when they received books and pencil color sets! Their faces and eyes said it all... Priceless! I hope that more Indonesians care about the education of the unfortunate children of this great nation. Let's do something together! Support dedicated, caring and wonderful people like Ibu Ati. We salute you, Ibu Ati! And of course, thank you so much, Aunty Nila, for bridging all of us and create a world full of rainbows where children are happier because they can read books and learn from them. You also can see more pictures by visiting my “Didgit Cobbleheart” Facebook or follow my Twitter/ Twitpic page @cobbleheart. Yours truly, Didgit |
