Dear Friends,

Two days before Christmas, I had a chance to distribute my story and coloring books Mencintai Flora dan Fauna Indonesia Barat (Loving Flora and Fauna of Western Indonesia) to my new friends at the KDM (Kampus Diakonia Modern) Foundation.
Located in Kampung Raden, Jatiwarna, Bekasi, Indonesia, the place was a sanctuary for many street children from Java and Sumatra.
Here, the street children were given the opportunity to have a better life by empowering them to be independent and self-supporting individuals.
Children as young as five were being rescued by KDM Foundatin from 1972. They also reunited families, gave these children basic education and many skills that will be beneficial for their future lives.
One of those skills is art. So, after I distributed my books there, we had a small drawing competition for my new friends. They were enthusiastic when drawing me with their pencil colors.
Several winners were picked by their teachers, and we had fun celebrating together.
