I have another GREAT News to announce! On May 21, 2013, I kicked off my 2013 Children Helping Children- Color Your Life program. If you are curious about what this program about, I am happy to tell you more. Just read on.

After selling more than 5,000 story books last year, I thought that it would be wonderful if more children can share my joy and my story. So, I have asked my publisher, Lily & Eddy if they could help create a program that will enable more children to read in happiness with me.

Lily & Eddy came up with a Corporate Social Responsibiity (CSR) program where they will develop-print and donate 5,000 coloring and story books that will be distributed to needy children in Indonesia. I love the idea so much that I jumped up and down when they told me about the plan.

Lily & Eddy will not just create and donate these books. The Publisher has asked me to invite 5,000 students from schools, big and small- local or international in Jakarta and the surrounding JABODETABEK areas, to get together and learn to share with others. How are we going to do so, then, you may ask? At first, it was daunting for me as well. Would I be able to invite that many students to participate in this program?

But, after Aunty Helen explained to many schools about the program (that I will come to their schools, do fun dance and story telling, and distribute my coloring story books to the students) we finally had various kinds of schools- big and small, national and international with various religious backgrounds- that became our first school partners! Wow! I was so touched!

Imagine that 5,000 students color the first page of the books, and write short letters for their peers! It is a small gesture from the students who are privilege to have the opportunity for good schooling to let their less fortunate friends that they care about them and want to share with them as well.

I will then collect the books, and my friends in several non-profit organizations will help making sure that those books will be delivered to the right needy children.

There are a lot of exciting things for me doing this program. First, I gain a lot more friends! On the first road show at TK and SD Santa Ursula, BSD, alone, I met 1,000 students-teachers-employees of that school!

The second road show at the TB-TK and SD Santa Ursula, Jakarta, on May 23, 2013, I met more than 600 students! So, practically, from two weekends in one week, I made more than 1,600 friends! Thats GREAT!

Second, I help my new friends to do something by sharing with other children. I am hoping that more and more of my friends will develop good hearts in the future. I personally think that the world will have less problems if all of us like to share and be good to each other.

Third, who knows that in the future, new friendships between students of Jakarta and the surrounding JABODETABEK areas can be formed and blossoms with other children from all around Indonesia? They can share a lot of things together, and learn from each others personal stories, first hand!

Currently, I have great friends who support this program. From the corporate sides, I have Kalbe and Cerebrofort, Roti Boy, Sola Interactive and Kinokuniya who contribute tremendously in making the program possible. Cerebrofort will give out 5,000 of its coloring pencils alongside the books for the needy children, and another 5,000 puzzles will be given to all the wonderful students of Jakarta and JABODETABEK who particapte.

I will write about all of my partners (corporates, non-profits as well as schools) in separate articles, so make sure to read them all. Just want to share with all of you that by uniting and doing things together, we can make a lot of wonderful things.
