The 71st interactive comic strip for my Soul Snacks by Didgit have been uploaded to my Facebook and Twitter/ Twitpics accounts on Wednesday, May 28, 2014.
Indonesia has so many unique and yummy native tropical fruits. This time, my friends and I got a lot of Rambutan (Nephellium lappaceum) or Hairy Fruits. The name really represents the fruits as it skins are covered by fleshy pliable hair-like spines (the word rambut is Indonesian for hairs). The fruit shapes in a round to oval single seeded berry. Its translucent in color, sometimes white or very pale pink, and it has a sweet mildy acidic flavor. The seeds, which are soft and crunchy, may be cooked and eaten as well so there will be little waste. From the Indonesian archipelago, Rambutan spreads throughout the South East Asian region, and even reach Panama and Costa Rica! It is no surprise that this relative of Lychee, Longan and Mamoncillo are enjoyed by so many people. You can share your stories about your favorite fruits with me on my Facebook account (Go to my web: www.didgitcobbleheart.com and click the Facebooks icon on the lower right hand side) or my Twitter/ Twitpics account @cobbleheart. I can make your stories into comic formats like this one so that more children can learn from your experiences. Soul Snacks by Didgit is a weekly interactive comic strip that will be available on my Facebook and Twitter/ Twitpics accounts every Wednesday! Stay tune for the next edition, or better, send me your ideas so you can show your friends your own comic strip! Truly Yours, Didgit |
