HOW DO YOU KNOW IF YOUR CHILD IS BEING BULLIED?

Once I know the many forms of bullying, I look for information on how we as parents identify if our child has become a victim of bullying acts. I think by knowing the signs, we can help our child sooner to prevent further damage on him or her. The followings are signs of children who become victims of bully:

  • Find excuses to miss school

  • Fear of going to school

  • Stop talking about school

  • Being withdrawn, unhappy and moody

  • Sudden decreases in academic performance

  • Has few or no friends with whom he or she spends time with

  • Take long or illogical routes to school

  • Unexplained bruises, scratches and cuts

  • Loss of appetite or trouble sleeping

  • Display aggressive behavior at home (sometime, if your child is bullied, he or she will take it out on his or her siblings)

The sooner we identify the problem, the better we can help our child to overcome the problems.
